Phoenix Contact Parts, New Zealand
RFQ / Phoenix Contact
Terminal blocks, power supplies, relays, I/O and connectors. Send us the seven-digit order number.
Phoenix Contact is in almost every control panel in New Zealand. Terminal blocks, DIN rail power supplies, interface relays, modular I/O, surge protection, networking and connectors.
Most of it is consumable. Terminal blocks get added to, power supplies fail, relay modules wear out. We supply the current range as a distributor and hold surplus for the discontinued parts.

The order number is what identifies the part
Phoenix Contact uses a seven-digit order number alongside the type designation, and the number is what you should send us.
The reason is colour. The same terminal block in a different colour is a different part.
| Order number | Type | Colour |
|---|---|---|
| 3044076 | UT 2,5 | Grey |
| 3044089 | UT 2,5 BU | Blue |
Identical specification, different colour, different order number. Both are 1000 V, 24 A, screw connection, 2.5 mm sq nominal, 0.14 to 4 mm sq range, on NS 35/7,5 or NS 35/15 rail.
BU is blue, conventionally used for neutral, and PE is green-yellow for protective conductor.
The parts that need other parts
This pattern runs across the Phoenix range and is worth knowing before you order anything modular.
| Part | What it also needs |
|---|---|
| PLC-BSC relay base | A plug-in relay. The base alone does nothing |
| AXL SE Smart Elements | An AXL F BP backplane. No bus communication without one |
| Terminal strips | End cover, two end clamps, and bridges if terminals are linked |
| Fuse terminals | The fuse itself, ordered separately |
| Interface relay banks | FBST bridges for potential distribution |
| CONTACTRON group shutdown | DIN rail connectors |
| HEAVYCON assemblies | Contact insert, frame, housing and PE contact, all separate |
Tell us what you are building and we will include the parts that make it work rather than just the ones you named.
The base plus replaceable element pattern
Worth knowing because it usually means the cheaper order is the right one.
| Range | Stays in place | Gets replaced |
|---|---|---|
| PLC-INTERFACE | PLC-BSC base, wired | REL-MR plug-in relay |
| Surge protection | VAL-MS base element | The ST protective plug |
If a relay has worn out or a surge protector has done its job, the base and its wiring are usually fine. Order the element, not the assembly. On a panel with thirty of them that is a substantial difference.
The connection technology is in the family name
| Family | Connection |
|---|---|
| UT | Screw connection |
| UK | Screw connection, earlier generation |
| ST | Spring-cage connection |
| PT | Push-in connection |
| QT | Quick connection |
| CLIPLINE complete | The system all of these belong to |
Push-in is the fastest to wire because a ferruled conductor pushes straight in without a tool. Spring-cage needs a screwdriver to open the clamp. Screw needs torquing.
If you are extending an existing terminal strip, match the family. Mixing screw and push-in on one rail works electrically but makes the panel harder to maintain and bridges are not shared.
Note that SC and PT also appear as connection codes in the CONTACTRON range, and SP in the MACX Analog range, all meaning screw or push-in. Same idea, different letters depending on where you are in the catalogue.

What we can supply
Current production. The full CLIPLINE terminal range, QUINT and TRIO power supplies, PLC-INTERFACE relays, CONTACTRON starters, MINI and MACX Analog, Axioline I/O, surge protection, Factoryline switches, connectors and marking systems. Quoted with a delivered lead time.
Bulk and panel-build orders. Terminal blocks, interface relays and connectors are the definition of a bulk item. Send us the schedule and we will quote the lot including bridges, end covers, markers and rail.
Discontinued. Older UK terminals, earlier power supply generations, Inline IB IL parts and superseded signal conditioners. Surplus and tested used.
What to send us
The seven-digit order number. That is the definitive identifier, especially where colour variants exist.
Or the type designation and colour. UT 2,5 BU is enough for us to find 3044089.
For a panel build, the schedule. We will include the accessories that get forgotten.
Common questions
Can you get a part that is not listed on your site?
Usually. The site shows what we hold, not what we can source. Send the order number.
Do you supply in packs?
Terminal blocks are normally supplied in packs of 50 or 100 depending on the type. Tell us the quantity you need and we will quote accordingly.
I only need the relay, not the whole module.
Then that is what we will quote. See the interface relay page.
What is the lead time?
Ex stock items ship the next working day within New Zealand. We give you a firm lead time with the quote.
Do you quote in NZD?
Yes, in NZD including GST for New Zealand customers.
