Siemens MICROMASTER 410 Inverters

Siemens / Drives / MICROMASTER 410

Every MICROMASTER 410 article number, 0.12 kW to 0.75 kW. The small single-phase one.

The MICROMASTER 410 is the smallest of the family. Single-phase supply, three-phase motor output, natural convection cooling with no fan, and connections laid out like a contactor so it drops into a panel easily.

You find them on gate and door drives, small conveyors, moving signage, packaging machines and small pumps and fans. Discontinued, and they still turn up all over the place.

How to read the number

Take 6SE6410-2UB17-5BA0.

Part Meaning
6SE6410 MICROMASTER 410
U Without filter. B in this position means internal Class B filter
B 1 AC 200 to 240 V. A means 1 AC 100 to 120 V
17-5 0.75 kW. First digit 1 means times 0.1, so 7.5 x 0.1
B Frame size AB. A in this position means frame AA
A0 Standard heatsink. B0 means flat plate heatsink

1 AC 100 to 120 V supply

Output is 200 to 240 V three-phase in every case.

Output Frame Without filter
0.12 kW AA 6SE6410-2UA11-2AA0
0.25 kW AA 6SE6410-2UA12-5AA0
0.37 kW AA 6SE6410-2UA13-7AA0
0.55 kW AB 6SE6410-2UA15-5BA0

No internal filter option exists on the 100 to 120 V range.

1 AC 200 to 240 V supply

Output Frame Without filter Internal filter Class B
0.12 kW AA 6SE6410-2UB11-2AA0 6SE6410-2BB11-2AA0
0.25 kW AA 6SE6410-2UB12-5AA0 6SE6410-2BB12-5AA0
0.37 kW AA 6SE6410-2UB13-7AA0 6SE6410-2BB13-7AA0
0.55 kW AB 6SE6410-2UB15-5BA0 6SE6410-2BB15-5BA0
0.75 kW AB 6SE6410-2UB17-5BA0 6SE6410-2BB17-5BA0

Flat plate heatsink versions

These end in B0 rather than A0. The heatsink mounts outside the cabinet, which saves internal space and moves the heat out of the panel.

Output Frame Without filter Internal filter Class B
0.37 kW AA 6SE6410-2UB13-7AB0 6SE6410-2BB13-7AB0
0.75 kW AB 6SE6410-2UB17-5BB0 6SE6410-2BB17-5BB0

These are not interchangeable with the standard versions. Different physical mounting, different panel cutout. If your existing unit ends in B0 you need another B0. This catches people out constantly, because the rest of the number is identical.

Note also that the flat plate versions do not carry the UL and cUL listings that the standard versions do.

Dimensions and weights

Version H x W x D Weight
Frame AA 150 x 69 x 118 mm 0.8 kg
Frame AB 150 x 69 x 138 mm 1.0 kg
0.37 kW flat plate 175 x 69 x 102 mm 0.78 kg
0.75 kW flat plate 175 x 69 x 102 mm 0.8 kg

The 410 uses a different operator panel

This is the one thing people get wrong when buying accessories. The 410 takes the OP, not the BOP used on the 420 and 440.

Article number Option Fits
6SE6400-0SP00-0AA0 OP, Operator Panel MM410 only
6SE6400-0PL00-0AA0 PC to inverter connection kit MM410 only
6SE6400-0DR00-0AA0 DIN rail mounting adapter MM410
6SE6400-2FL01-0AB0 EMC filter Class B, low leakage 1 AC 200 to 240 V
6SE6400-3CC00-4AB3 Line commutating choke, footprint 0.12 to 0.25 kW at 200 to 240 V
6SE6400-3CC01-0AB3 Line commutating choke, footprint 0.37 to 0.75 kW at 200 to 240 V
6SE6400-3CC02-6BB3 Line commutating choke, upright mounting 100 to 120 V range

The 410 also has no communication module options. No PROFIBUS, no DeviceNet, no CANopen. It has an RS-485 interface running USS protocol and that is it. If the application needs a fieldbus, you need a 420 or above.

Every MICROMASTER 410 ships without an operator panel. Unlike the 420 and 430 it does not even come with a status display. The OP is a separate order.

What it will and will not do

Three digital inputs and one analog input, which can double as a fourth digital input. One relay output rated 30 V DC / 5 A resistive or 250 V AC / 2 A inductive. No analog output.

Control is V/f, quadratic V/f, programmable multipoint V/f and flux current control. There is no vector control and no PID controller. If you need closed loop process control, this is not the drive.

Motor cable length is limited to 30 m shielded or 50 m unshielded. That is much shorter than the larger MICROMASTERs and it is a common reason a 410 trips on a long run.

Before you buy

Check the heatsink type. Standard or flat plate. They do not swap.

Check the supply voltage. The 100 to 120 V and 200 to 240 V versions look identical and are not.

Filtered versions and RCDs. An inverter with an internal filter can be used with a 30 mA residual current circuit breaker but is only suitable for hardwired installation. An unfiltered inverter with the optional low leakage Class B filter has a leakage current under 3.5 mA with a shielded motor cable up to 5 m.
