Every MICROMASTER 430 article number, 7.5 kW to 250 kW. The pump and fan drive.

The MICROMASTER 430 was built for pumps and fans. It has more inputs and outputs than the 420, an operator panel with manual and automatic switchover, load torque monitoring that detects a dry running pump, and motor staging so one drive can control a cascade.

It is discontinued, and it is still running water treatment, dairy, irrigation and HVAC plant across New Zealand. Send us the number off the label.

How to read the number

Take 6SE6430-2UD33-0DA0.

The power code. First digit is a multiplier: 2 means times 1, 3 means times 10, 4 means times 100. The rest reads as a decimal. So 27-5 is 7.5 kW, 33-0 is 30 kW, 41-3 is 132 kW. A few round rather than match exactly.

Filters work differently above 110 kW

Every 430 from 7.5 to 90 kW is available with an internal Class A filter as standard. From 110 kW upward there is no internal filter option, and Siemens states the external Class A filter may only be used together with a line commutating choke.

If you are replacing a filtered unit above 90 kW, you need the filter and the choke as separate items. Tell us and we will quote all three.

Frame sizes, dimensions and weights

Useful for panel fit and freight.

Note the filtered frame F is 300 mm taller than the unfiltered one. If you are swapping an unfiltered unit for a filtered one, check the panel height before you order.

FX and GX units are two-person lifts and ship palletised. Factor that into your delivery.

Operating temperature is lower than you might expect

The 430 runs minus 10 to plus 40 degrees C from 7.5 to 90 kW, and 0 to plus 40 degrees C from 110 to 250 kW. That is lower than the 420, which goes to 50 degrees C. In a hot switchroom this matters, and it is a common cause of nuisance tripping in summer.

Options

The 430 uses the BOP-2 panel, which is specific to this series. The communication modules are shared with the 420 and 440.

Gland plates are integrated as standard on frames D, E and F. Only frame C needs one ordered separately.

Every MICROMASTER ships without an operator panel. The 430 comes with a Status Display Panel only. A BOP-2 is a separate order.

Chokes and filters

Siemens matches chokes and filters by frame size, not just by power. Tell us the drive article number and we will match the accessories correctly.

Before you buy

Filtered drives cannot go on an IT supply. Siemens states plainly that MICROMASTER inverters with an internal filter are not permitted on non-grounded IT mains supplies.

The Y capacitor. On a non-grounded supply the removable Y capacitor must be taken out and an output choke fitted.

Residual current devices. Leakage currents may exceed 30 mA, typically 10 to 50 mA in practice. Trouble-free operation on a 30 mA RCD cannot be guaranteed. A 300 mA device is workable.

Motor cable length. Without an output choke, 50 m shielded or 100 m unshielded up to 90 kW. From 110 kW, 100 m shielded or 150 m unshielded. With the right choke, 200 to 300 m, and up to 450 m unshielded on FX and GX.

Replace or migrate

If a pump is down today, a used or surplus 430 of the same article number gets you running with no reprogramming and no panel changes.

If you are planning ahead, the SINAMICS G120 range is the current equivalent and we can quote it as a distributor. It is not a drop-in. We can supply the new drives, keep the old ones running through the changeover, and take the decommissioned units away.
