Siemens HMI Panels
Siemens / HMI panels
Every Comfort Panel article number, the full number decode, and why 2026 matters if you run a first generation Basic Panel.
Siemens has made operator panels for over thirty years across at least four numbering ranges. Working out what you have is often harder than sourcing it.
Which range is yours?
| Starts with | Range | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 6AV3 | COROS OP3, OP7, OP17, OP27, OP37, TD17, TP27, TP37 | Long obsolete |
| 6AV6 54x / 6AV6 64x | OP and TP 170, 177, 270, 277. MP 270, MP 370, MP 377 | Discontinued |
| 6AV6647 | Basic Panels 1st generation: KTP400, KTP600, KTP1000, KTP1500 | Discontinued |
| 6AV2 123 | Basic Panels 2nd generation: KTP400, KTP700, KTP900, KTP1200 | Current |
| 6AV2 124 | Comfort Panels: KTP400 to TP2200 | Current, partly cancelled |
| 6AV2 128 | Unified Comfort Panels, MTP series | Current |
| 6AV7 | Industrial and panel PCs, IPC477 and IPC677 | Mixed |
How to read a Comfort Panel number
This decodes fully. Take 6AV2124-0MC01-0AX0.
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 6AV2124 | Comfort Panel |
| 0 | Input type. 0 is TP touch, 1 is KP key, 2 is KTP touch and key |
| M | Screen size. See below |
| C01 | Generation. 01 or 02 |
| 0AX0 | Hardware version. 0AX0 is V1, 0AX1 is V2 |
| Letter | Screen size |
|---|---|
| D | 4 inch |
| G | 7 inch |
| J | 9 inch |
| M | 12 inch |
| Q | 15 inch |
| U | 19 inch |
| X | 22 inch |
So 6AV2124-0MC01-0AX0 is a 12 inch touch panel, and 6AV2124-1MC01-0AX0 is the 12 inch key version of the same panel.
Comfort Panels, complete range

| KP700 Comfort | 7 in key | 6AV2124-1GC01-0AX0 |
| TP700 Comfort | 7 in touch | 6AV2124-0GC01-0AX0 |
| KP900 Comfort | 9 in key | 6AV2124-1JC01-0AX0 |
| TP900 Comfort | 9 in touch | 6AV2124-0JC01-0AX0 |
| KP1200 Comfort | 12 in key | 6AV2124-1MC01-0AX0 |
| TP1200 Comfort | 12 in touch | 6AV2124-0MC01-0AX0 |
| KP1500 Comfort V1 | 15 in key | 6AV2124-1QC02-0AX0 |
| KP1500 Comfort V2 | 15 in key | 6AV2124-1QC02-0AX1 |
| TP1500 Comfort V1 | 15 in touch | 6AV2124-0QC02-0AX0 |
| TP1500 Comfort V2 | 15 in touch | 6AV2124-0QC02-0AX1 |
| TP1900 Comfort V1 | 19 in touch | 6AV2124-0UC02-0AX0 |
| TP1900 Comfort V2 | 19 in touch | 6AV2124-0UC02-0AX1 |
| TP2200 Comfort V1 | 22 in touch | 6AV2124-0XC02-0AX0 |
| TP2200 Comfort V2 | 22 in touch | 6AV2124-0XC02-0AX1 |
V1 and V2 have different dimension drawings. Siemens documents TP1500, TP1900 and TP2200 separately for each version. If you are replacing into an existing cutout on those sizes, the trailing digit matters.
What a Comfort Panel gives you
Taking the TP700 Comfort as the example: 7 inch widescreen TFT, 16 million colours, PROFINET interface, MPI and PROFIBUS DP interface, 12 MB configuration memory, Windows CE 6.0.
Configured from WinCC Comfort V11 or higher. Projects upload and download over the built-in Ethernet or USB interfaces. If your engineering station is on an older WinCC version, check before you buy.
If your Basic Panel starts 6AV6647, read this
Siemens declared the first generation Basic Panels a discontinued product on 1 October 2016. That covers the KTP400, KTP600, KTP1000 and KTP1500.
The spare parts commitment runs ten years from that date. That commitment expires in 2026.
If you are still running a KTP600 or KTP1000 on a production machine, official spares are ending this year. After that the only supply is the secondary market, which is where we operate.
Now is a sensible time to either hold a spare or plan the changeover. We can quote either.
The Siemens product lifecycle
| Stage | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| P.M 300, start of delivery | Available new and actively marketed, typically up to 12 years |
| P.M 400, phase-out announcement | Still orderable, no longer marketed. The ten year spares commitment starts here |
| P.M 410, product cancellation | No longer orderable new. Spares only, successor usually named |
| Discontinuation | Spare parts commitment ends. Secondary market only |
The 15 to 22 inch Comfort Panels have had a cancellation notice, with named successors in the Unified Comfort 6AV2128 range.
Legacy panels we have confirmed
Please note. The Comfort Panel table above is complete. The legacy ranges below are a confirmed sample rather than a full catalogue, because the older 6AV3 and 6AV6 ranges are not covered by a single accessible Siemens document. Send us your number and we will confirm it properly.
| Article number | Panel |
|---|---|
| 6AV6545-0DA10-0AX0 | MP370, 12 inch |
| 6AV6642-0BC01-1AX1 | TP 177B DP, 6 inch mono |
Successors in the Unified Comfort range
| Article number | Notes |
|---|---|
| 6AV2128-3QB06-0AX1 | Unified Comfort, successor to the 15 inch Comfort Panels |
| 6AV2128-3QB36-0AX1 | Unified Comfort, later successor |
Accessories
| Article number | Item |
|---|---|
| 6ES7193-4JB00-.... | Power supply plug, 2x2 pin, spring terminal |
| 6AV6881-0AS42-.... | SIMATIC HMI USB stick |
| 6AV2124-6DJ00-.... | Protective film, 4 inch, KTP400 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6GJ00-.... | Protective film, 7 inch, TP700 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6JJ00-.... | Protective film, 9 inch, TP900 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6MJ00-.... | Protective film, 12 inch, TP1200 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6QJ00-.... | Protective film, 15 inch, TP1500 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6UJ00-.... | Protective film, 19 inch, TP1900 Comfort |
| 6AV2124-6XJ00-.... | Protective film, 22 inch, TP2200 Comfort |
The trailing dots are Siemens own notation for the variant key. Note the protective film numbers follow the same size letter scheme as the panels, so a 12 inch film is 6MJ00 to match the M in the panel number.
The power supply plug is worth noting. A tiny part, it goes missing constantly, and a panel without one cannot be commissioned.
Can you identify my panel from a photo?
Yes. Panel labels are usually on the back and often faded or painted over. Send us a photo of the rear label and the front of the panel.
If the label is gone entirely, tell us the screen size, whether it has keys or is touch only, what it connects to, and roughly how old the machine is. That is normally enough.
What we can supply
Legacy panels. COROS, OP and TP 170 through 277, MP 270, MP 370 and MP 377, and the first generation Basic Panels. Surplus and tested used, since there is no new supply.
Current panels. Basic Panels 2nd generation, the full Comfort Panel range above, and Unified Comfort Panels, quoted new as a distributor with a delivered lead time.
Accessories. Power supply plugs, protective films, USB sticks and mounting hardware.
We also buy panels
If you are replacing a control system, the old panels are worth something even if the machine is scrap. See Sell To Us.
Send us your article numbers
Or a photo if the label is unreadable. On the 15, 19 and 22 inch Comfort Panels include the last digit, because V1 and V2 have different dimensions. Quotes in NZD including GST.
